My sincerest apologies for not updating this blog earlier. I had my baby October 30, 2006 and have been busy ever since.

Here's what happened. With a baby coming, I knew I would not be able to work on the business (and was I ever right!) so I called told them I was going to return it, and then I did. They issued a prompt refund to my husband's credit card--not just for the original price, but also for the shipping. The only part we lost was the $10 for rushing the shipping, but that's okay. We weren't expecting to even get the shipping back!

So my conclusions? I don't really think it's a scam, but it could have been advertised more realistically. I hope those who are really trying out the business will post their results here on this blog under the comments and keep it going.

For those interested in home businesses, other than Zaken, take a look at the links I have to the left of the blog. Now that my baby's a bit older (almost 5 months now), I have a bit of time to look into this kind of thing. I'm experimenting with mystery shopping and also doing a bit of sewing/mending on the side, besides taking care of my baby and my husband. I will be keeping a running list of mystery shopping companies that I believe to be legit (that is, ones that have paid me). As for the sewing, if you live in the Rio Grande Valley area (or are willing to pay shipping), you can contact me at mrs.reynoso@gmail.com if you need sewing done. I have over 10 years of sewing experience. If you have problems getting clothes to fit, I can also make patterns customized to your figure. As of this writing, I am still learning, so my prices are very low. But in a few months I hope to get lots of experience, so in a few years I probably will start charging more, so get me early if you can!

Thank you all for reading and commenting.

Even without taking into account all the negative things about Zaken.

When you look at the package and the things you have to do to get paid.

Did you think that the big
stores like
BIG LOTS - FAMILY DOLLAR or DEALS or DOLLAR TREE.

Have their own people looking for closeout merchandise.
Could you or Zaken compete against them?

Let alone the fact that you or anyone else in the Zaken business
could be contacting the same people over and over again to make a deal using the same list.

Thats one of the tests I use to evaluate any online or offline business - know your competition and where the money comes from.

More so when you have to be the
"bird dog" for a company to help them make money.

A company like Zaken has been around for years - so how is it
they would still need people
to "flush out" deals to help
them make money
remember they have a huge office.

Remember the old saying

Sell the sizzle not the steak

Thats exactly what the materials
they send out to people do.

sure they make money from
getting each person to join up
and pay for things they don't need
or know they can get from other places for free.

Imagine 100's or 1000's of people doing the same thing.

Join up for $148
spend $498 for a directory
$300 for leads or stationary

It all adds up fast
and becomes really easy to give refunds to people as you have many more new people coming in
to hand over money.

kick out a refund from time to time
is nothing.

Its the cost of doing business.

If it was easy for anyone to get
closeout merchandise
Zaken would not need anyone to find it or have to split it 50/50.

money is being made By Zaken
yet not from merchandise closeouts.

where are they selling it?

Hello Lisa,

I was doing some research on Zakin Corp and I and eventually I landed on your blogspsot.

Congratulations on your nearly 5 month old baby... fantastic - hope all are doing well.

I've been working from home for a fairly long time (nearly 12 years) and an in a bit of a transistion
so aside from somethimg else I decided to add Zakin to my at home cash-flow repertoire.

One thing I'm finding is that you have got to be careful as to how much credence you give negative
or positive evaluations when they are on the Internet. I have found what seems to be a balance of
both on Zakin.

A lot of it's several years old too

Now as for me I personally drove to the office in Chatsworth, CA with my initial paperwork because
a) it was about a half hour drive and b) I wanted to see that it was real, tour the place and talk with
real live people. There is a warehouse full of stuff too.

In the final analysis where Zakin appears to be today is completely renewing itself, probably hit
a few bumps along the way like everyone else in this rapidly changing world.

I have found the owner Tiran Zakin, to have personally taken the time to rebut things written negatively
about his company. And being a home business entrepreneur myself, which has required placing other
peoples' interest right along side my own that the Zakin Corp really appears to be concerned about the
welfare of others.

I may or may not do well, but in the end the onus in either instance will be more on me then the company,
as with any other home business opportunity. The company does their part, we do ours - or not

Like any business, as someone wrote at another site, you've got to ramp up it up, so then with Zakin.

They even let you use their money to secure the purchase and sale of products that sounds more then fair to me.

People ought to complain as much about regular 'work by the hour' jobs. There it's what you see is what you get and
the potential for any upside lifestyle changes are pretty much nil.

Will it be easy? Easy is a relative term and means different things to different people. The real question is will it be
worth it?

Now I didn't specifically write you to show you what else I'm doing in transistion, but since it's always in the signature
of my email perhaps you will find it very interesting, and if not - well that's ok too.

All The Best

Sincerely,

I used to work for the Zaken Corp in their corporate office doing data entry. It is a legitemit business, but then so are Enron, Worldcom, and Adelphia. These people are without question running a scam operation. The laws say "Buyer Beware" so I think they can get away with it. As with any scam, if it's advertised enough, and if even a reletively small number of people respond with orders, you can make incredible money. Why do you think there are so many scams? 99.9999 of the people who buy into this never make a dime, and reletively few of them ever get money back unless they threaten with a law suit. As someone else said, giving back a refund once in a while is no big deal when so much money is coming in.
One big lie is when they say they need 50 people to help them with their business. They will take anyone's money, no matter where or when. There may be 20 people in your same zip code with the same directories, calling on the same companies you are at any given time.
Every state where they have operated in the past has had their Attorney General go after them. Here, in Los Angeles, there was a Fox News investigation.
I could go on forever, but to put it in a nutshell: They lie, They cheat, and they feel no remorse in doing so.
